Art Classes for Teens and Pre-Teens
15 Hours of Creative Fun every Week: Mornings in July
Instructor Beth Neville, a professional artist and experienced educator, offers immersive art classes for teens and pre-teens in her Milton, Massachusetts studio. Four sessions of art classes are offered beginning Monday, July 1, 2013, from 9:00 AM to noon, Monday through Friday.
Instruction includes oil and watercolor painting, drawing and cartooning art. Other projects presented are hand-made books, sumi-e brush painting and clay sculpture. Weather permitting, classes are held outdoors in the gardens amid fountains, flowers and statuary.
The arts of China, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Africa are introduced as inspiration for drawing and painting. Students use sculpture and art objects from the Neville collection as sources.
Older teens may develop an art portfolio, including an oil self-portrait, for admission to architecture, design or liberal arts colleges. Each teen or pre-teen will have an opportunity to express his or her creativity in an art studio setting and home filled with paintings, statues, art books and art objects collected from around the world.
Due to the individual attention provided, class size is limited to 10 students per week. Participants must be between the ages of 11 and 18 years old. Learn more on the Eligibility page of this web site.
